The American Racing Drivers Club (ARDC) wingless midgets will return to action at the Bridgeport Speedway on Saturday night, July 12th. The midgets will take their action to the quarter mile Bridgeport track for heats and a twenty-five lap feature event as they celebrate ARDC’s 75th Anniversary.
ARDC has not raced at the Logan Township track since 2011 when Alex Bright and Ryan Smith picked up wins in the club’s two appearances. Collegeville, PA driver, Bright will be in the field, looking for his second ARDC win of the season behind the wheel of the Lightcap Electric #77 – the same car that the young speedster drove to a fourth place finish in this year’s Chili Bowl. Smith is now competing in 410 Sprint cars but his win came in the Jerry & Karen Steward owned midget that will be driven this Saturday night by Danny Stratton.
Of course, current ARDC point leader, Steven Drevicki will have something to say about the results. Drevicki has already claimed victory on two occasions this season and would like nothing better than to add another ‘w’ to his list.
PJ Gargiulo has a win this season and expects to be in the Bridgeport field. 2013 ARDC Champion, Trevor Kobylarz is in search of his first win of 2014 along with drivers Bruce Buckwalter, Jr., Brenden Bright, Brett Arndt, Nick Wean and Kyle Lick. Drivers like Ryan Greth, Jim Radney, Tony DiMattia and others are looking to add their names to the ARDC Feature Winners List.
